I've mentioned this here before, but it bears mentioning again.
The Journals of Adelaide Pell is a brilliant continuing graphic novel unfolding at the moment at

The author/artist, Monte Wilson, also has a LiveJournal account, adelaidepell, in which he lets people know when he posts the latest updates to the story.

Adelaide Pell has more texture and detail than any graphic novel I've ever read. I don't know how he manages to do it, but this is one of the best things I've read in a long time. Don't expect a straight 3-act action story filled with clichés. This is far richer. No quick description I could give would do it justice. Do yourself a favor and read it.
