recipe for political success

Use the media to blow small incidents out of proportion to magnify the fear and dislike for this group. This is very important, because success is directly linked to the amount of fear and hate that can be generated. The more irrational it is, the more effective it is, because it is impossible to argue against irrational fear and hate; only rational feelings are open to logical discussion.
Don't worry if this starts tearing society apart, so much the better, because that causes even more polarisation, and polarisation is your ally. While the majority are being whipped up into a frenzy of hate nobody will look at your lies or weak record, but if some do you can easily fix that by calling them unpatriotic. Smear campaigns will work wonders here too. If you work things right you can even pass treason laws that allow you to imprison such troublemakers without even needing charges. When that happens you know you are close to the ultimate success, dictatorship -- ultimate power.

- All the irrational emotions can be played in your cause: greed, patriotism, religion, "family values", xenophobia. Study them.
- Always attack the weak and ally yourself with the strong.
- Winning is proof of rightness, even when it is wrong... unless the other side wins, in which case you can use it to feed the fear more.
- Isolate the do-gooders. Make them feel they are the only ones. Fear and suspicion are the tools of choice for that.
- You can do it. Look at what that imbecile Hitler achieved, or that loser Pol Pot. You are much smarter than them, aren't you?.
- God is on your side.
- War is peace, fear is love, death is life.
- Money and love for it is one the most beautiful things in the world -- far more so than human life.
- Power is the greatest aphrodisiac. Kissinger said it, so it must be true.
