The Whole Nine Yards
Oct. 21st, 2006 06:03 pmOn TV tonight is The Whole Nine Yards, one of my all-time favorite movies. This inspired piece of lunacy plays like an old 1940s screwball comedy, with Matthew Perry playing a part similar to the kind Cary Grant used to do so well. Watching the film you get a strong impression that they must have had a great time making it. It just snaps along with perfect comic timing. You need to be on your toes with the plot too as it folds back on itself on at a number of points, quite brilliantly.
It is raining here at the moment. We really need it, but I hope it clears up by late tonight as the only TV channel I get here is very weak and snowy at the best of times. When it is raining absolutely nothing gets through.
