oh very smart... not

I've been waiting for this to happen for some time now. A stupid company has set their web pages up to advertise their wares, but they are so totally into control that when cookies are blocked their web page won't load. Idiots.

I've seen a lot of sites that need cookies in order to remember your preferences, so functionality is hampered without cookies. But at most of those sites you can still choose to enable them or not. This site I found today just won't load without cookies. There is no way I would enable cookies for such a site.

invade - 02 - taking flight

Here is the second chapter of my 2006 NaNoWriMo story.

I've almost cheated here. I'd had a nightmare a while back that I wrote down as a story when I awoke. It forms the basis for this chapter. But I didn't refer to my original writing, and I've changed and extended it in a number of important ways, so I don't think I'm actually breaking any NaNo rules.

This one is 1,692 words, bringing my total so far to about 4,325. ( Read more... )
