a new story begins

For the last few months I've been planning out a story. This morning I began actually writing chapter 1. Yay! Hopefully this will be a more-or-less full-length novel. I'm hoping the NaNoWriMo experience of the last few years will help me here, though it won't be the flat-out, crazy, exhausting marathon that NaNo is. The intention is to produce around a chapter per week -- more on good days, less on others. Because there is not the same pressure to get stuff written I'm hoping it will be driven more by quality, instead of quantity. The risk is that it will be retarded by my laziness and by how frighteningly easily I'm distracted.

The story is called "flying". Each time I finish a chapter I'll post a note here with a link to it. With luck the first chapter will be done in a few days.
