Oops... silly me. I should have put the pictures behind a cut tag. I've now done that.

Was there supposed to be a picture and/or story with this?

You get invisible friendly nighttime monsters too?!

Thank goodness!

I thought I was the only one!

Grins--no more teasing, and of course it was friendly. Excited to see, though!

I am pretty sure that the frog is a Limnodynastes peroni or commonly known as Peron's Lord of the Marshes

:) Reminds me of my childhood vacations. I was always catching frogs when we went camping.

I should have added the very interesting piece about the Limnodynastes family which is in the Encyclopedia of Australian Animals - Frogs by Michael J. Tyler. He says " The members of this genus are conspicuous wherever they live and, compared with other genera , population numbers are high. All lay their eggs in foam nests upon the surface of the water. The foam is created by the female which traps air bubbles at the surface of the water with specially broadened fingers, and then throws them downwards and backwards. The air bubbles bounce on her abdomen, pass between her legs, and there become embedded in the egg jelly emerging from her vent."

That's one of the nice things about this place: there seem to be so many frogs. This one ended up wandering into my bathroom. He/she caught his/herself.

I must go and check for eggs and tadpoles around here soon.

They always look so cute. I don't know how they manage that.
