Wow! I just wasted spent some time this afternoon reading through an enormous list of Hello World programs written in more than 400 computer languages. It also shows the greeting in 63 human languages.

Hello World programs are short test programs that do nothing more than display the words "Hello World". Often they are the first thing a person writes in that language, kinda like dipping their toe in the waters.
It is no mystery why BASIC became such a roaring success in the early days of computing, nor why python has become so favored now.
