It is my custom to settle in each night in front of my computer for dinner and a movie... or a documentary or lecture. Tonight I watched a talk that was so exciting I had trouble eating. It was one of those presentations that has the potential to change the world -- and I don't mean just metaphorically, but actually!
He spoke about the bell curve -- what it is, how it applies to us, and how easily it can be misused. He showed how we can change the process by which kids learn maths (and potentially any subject) to produce a highly knowledgeable and capable generation of kids that love to learn, instead of kids who are taught (unintentionally) that learning is boring.
This is a fascinating talk. All teachers owe it to themselves to watch it.
