Zombies want to eat you

The zombies are at it again. Now they think they can work their evil magic by redefining ownership. But they are just plain wrong. It's no accident that music and film sales have soared since copying became easy to do, just as music entered a boom-time when everybody was giving mix-tapes to each other. (Remember how the music industry tried to get them banned too?) Easy copying doesn't threaten those industries; it aids them with free advertising! If someone gives you a film or some music that you grow to enjoy, what do you do? You go out and buy it, of course! The copy has cost the industry nothing and it results in sales.

The damage to the industry comes from their own coke-addled, paranoid, control-freak executives attacking their customers. While they whine that their customers are ruining their industry, film and music is turning record profits. This at a time when the rest of the economy is sinking.

I know their propaganda efforts are impressive, but does nobody connect the dots? Have we all lost the power of independent thought?
