the next arms race has already begun: drones
I guess this puts us on track for a Terminator-style ending. At the moment they are operated by people. (They are skilled in shoot-em-up games. Remember how your Mum warned you about them?) How long until drones are independently intelligent?

Unfortunately I doubt protests will have much effect on the shadowy murderers behind the drones. The only way I can see that they can be stopped is to make them too expensive to operate by enabling victims and their families to sue for damage.
We don't have the option of travelling back in time to stop the terminators. We have to stop them before the lunatics build them. Piloted drones are the beginning. It needs to stop here.
We need to find ways to solve problems without killing. I blame a lot of our entertainment for ingraining the idea that weapons are the first resort for solving a problem, and that force works. So dysfunctional! Much entertainment (out of USA, especially) tries to make guns look sexy!! How sick is that?
