The L Word

There is a new show being produced in USA named The L Word. It was originally to be called Earthlings but the name was changed a little while back.

Trudy, one of the Spaced Out members, brought it to my attention. pointing to this:

Of the main cast of 8 women, one character is written as bi and one straight. All the rest are written to be lesbian. Cool!

Lesbians figure prominently on the other side of the camera too: The L Word is directed by Rose Troche (who wrote, directed, produced, and edited "Go Fish") and Ilene Chaiken writes the teleplay and stories. (Ilene Chaiken shares writing credits for the series with Kathy Greenberg and Michelle Abbott, but I don't know if they are lesbian too.)
