I love living here!
I was tired last night so went to bed early. It was a good thing because it meant I awoke at daybreak. I was working on my computer when a tawny frogmouth landed on the branch outside my window and settled down for a sleep. Tawny frogmouths hunt at night like owls, but they are actually nightjars.
I tried to catch it on my webcam, but all I could see was a blurry blob so I connected my video camera up to the computer and got these lovely pics:

This is how it slept most of the time. It is not really as fat and squat as it looks; it has fluffed up its feathers because it is a bit cool and there is a bit of a wind outside.

It woke a couple of times to look around for a few seconds before drifting off back to sleep.
