There are more smart people than ever before. The Flynn Effect and the information age have seen to it that intelligence and knowledge are at an all-time high... and yet... there is Bush (and in my country, Howard) and that phoney war... a fair chunk of Islam (and Christianity) seems to want to kill for the sake of an imaginary god... Israelis humiliate and kill the Palestinians and wonder why they send suicide bombers against them... the Palestinians bomb the Israelis and wonder why they are so unremittingly horrible to them... and there is "reality" TV...

I am at a bit of a loss to explain it all.
