Just watched an old episode of the X-Files while eating my dinner (probably not good for my digestion).

Once again I was taken with how truly superb are the lighting and camera-work of that series. They pioneered a lot of things we take so much for granted now, for instance quiet, natural speech mannerisms.

Ah, for me it was the music as much as anything else. Mark Snow's work contributed so much to the mood of the show. I was lucky enough to find a copy of The Truth and The Light a few years back, and it's only increased my respect for the aural aspects of the show: dialogue, music, and FX.

I've caught a couple on late night TV recently, but work and life have been conspiring against me, so I've missed 2 weeks worth now. :( Scully and Mulder both look so young! When I'm rich, the first 5 seasons (at least) will be some of the first stuff I buy on DVD.
