wisdom teeth are really stupid
My wisdom teeth all grew out wrong, growing horizontally, pushing into the teeth in front of them, and have caused me lots of trouble. I had one removed yeaterday. Oh joy. :(
I was advised by the dentist to take painkillers before the local anaesthetic wore off, but I don't like painkillers so I didn't. I'm glad now because my mouth is recovering nicely. It hurts far less than the original tooth did.
The reason I went to the dentist is that I normally just chew on any tender tooth and that generally fixes it, but over some weeks this one wasn't getting better. It just continued to worsen. Then after waking me in the middle of Thursday night I figured Murphy's Law meant that it would become intolerable during the weekend when all dentists are closed. If it was an abscess then that is not just painful, but dangerous -- abscesses can kill.
Tooth gone now.
I just hope it was the right tooth... but heck, the wisdom tooth was a time bomb anyway.
