Using mirrors, a razor blade and a high-speed camera, ASC member Phred Petersen will reveal what really happens when a bubble pops, a balloon bursts, or a match is struck.

Phred will take us inside the "light bending" world of Schlieren and shadowgraph photography. Presented by Phred Petersen, Senior Lecturer in Scientific Photography at RMIT University Applied Physics

Time: 6.30pm for a 7pm start
Where: Upstairs at the Redback Brewery, 75 Flemington Road, North Melbourne.
Cost: Free for Australian Science Communicators members, $10 for non-members and $5 for students. Meals and drinks at bar prices

sounds great, i don't know shodwgraph photography but i love high-tech photography of all kinds.

I tried to find your earlier comment so I could reply to it, but Robert's journal is notoiously well hidden. Anyway, I understand having too many friends on your list. It's a tricky thing, LJ.
