:) Heheheh Well, let's see... I first heard about NaNoWriMo on your Journal, I successfully resisted joining last year. This year you were so eager to do it again I wondered what it was all about, looked them up, and joined.
So... yep. :)
I was thinking that this is not just some fun writing thing... well it is, but it is more than that. Look at the figures of people getting involved.
In the past novel writing has always been a rather exclusive thing. Suddenly with more people than ever before able to write novels, NaNoWriMo comes along and unlocks all that potential. It is almost like the invention of the printing press. Before that nobody would have thought that most of the people would own and read books. It was considered an absurdity that would threaten the fabric of society. Now, a large chunk of the population writing books doesn't look threatening, but nobody seems to have considered the implications of such an explosion in creativity.
I've always said that we are living in a Renaissance. The after-effects of the next several years will be very interesting indeed.
