Wow! I grow ever more excited and nervous.

I spent some hours yesterday working out a timeline for the story. I have never really done that before. This is amazing. I can see the story falling into place. I know there will be some surprises -- my characters never do exactly what I want them to do -- but I can see the whole damn story over a month's writing. I didn't know I was capable of doing that. NaNoWriMo is already working its magic upon me and I haven't even started to write.

Incidentally it looks like there will be a little bit of action in the story after all, though not really the standard fare.

I'm not saying any more till later during the month. :)

Expect all my normal posts and email (and probably work too) to drop off to almost zero during November. I intend to write me a novel... and not just any novel. I want this to be something I can be proud of.

(A month!!! Eeeek!!! What am I letting myself in for??)

Sounds like you're doing well. Doing a timeline before you start, yeah, I had to do that for Scale of Dragon (book) because they only gave me 6 mths to get it done. That includes messing around and waiting for publishers, so it's almost like a published Nano :-) You'll be cool. I'd do it if it wouldn't be more painful than it's worth.

And yeah, it is a pain that my job gets in the way of writing but I think that'd be the case even if it wasn't transcript typing. Landscape gardening, say, that's great but you do that for a few hours and you lose interest in movement of any kind.

Hang in there!
