two words:

home stretch

[gulp] I expect to finish this story this week.
Luckily I have the ending all worked out. Unluckily my words keep drying up.

Good luck on the home stretch!!

I'm also hoping to cross the 50000 word line sometime in the near future, like this week. Yesterday and today I'll get NOTHING done. For some odd reason houseguests aren't thrilled when their hostess refuses to speak to them and instead spends hours hammering away at the computer.

Good for you about knowing the ending!! It's just a question of getting there now. Go for it!!

Congrats! I really wanted to do Nanowrimo this year, but I just didn't have the time at all. Just like the past couple of years. I'm shooting for next year though, and of course there's no rule that says you can't declare your own novel writing month (months like August are usually better for me).

Heheheh. :)
That's a good idea.
I would like to do another next year, but I keep thinking of the saying 'once bitten, twice shy'. :)
Of course by the time November rolls around I'll probably be thinking. 'Yeah, that wasn't so hard'.
Short memory.

Have you noticed that there are a few more new efforts?
• NaNoFiMo http://www.nanofimo.org challenges participants to finish incomplete NaNoWriMo creations in Decempber.
• NaNoEdMo http://www.nanoedmo.org in which you edit a finished text in 50 hours during March.
• NaNoWriYe http://www.nanowriye.com in which you use a year to write a novel.

Of course you could always start your own NaNoWriMoAug.
Or even short-circuit all the kefuffle and just declare out aloud that you intend to write a novel in August then do it. :)

Thanks, I hadn't known there were so many spinoffs. And yes, the last option was what I had in mind; I have too much going on to start an entirely new program LOL.
