Some rotten spammer has been sending me messages that the domain name "miriam-english.com" is available to be bought from him if I want it. I hate these cyber-squatters who buy up domain names at negligible prices, hoping to sell them at a vast profit to people later. They make it difficult to find usable domain names on the net and inflate prices for everybody, by doing essentially nothing. My dislike for these parasites is no intense that I did something I rarely do -- I sent a rude message to him telling him to piss off. Each email includes a link to a site that can supposedly be used to remove yourself from the list of people receiving those messages, but I sent a reply directly to the sender. I don't like clicking the 'unsubscribe' links contained in unsolicited email. It is almost guaranteed to place you on a spammer's list of people they can send more spam to -- it does the opposite of what the hapless victim hopes for.
It was only later I wondered if I'd made a mistake by replying in anger. Perhaps I've confirmed my address now to him. Oops. One possible bright aspect. The "miriam-english.com" address has been bought by him. I can only hope that my reply might have pushed him into wasting his money. I have no desire for that domain name.
The need for money prompts such revolting behavior in some people.
