Dalai Lama
Jun. 24th, 2007 07:42 pmThere was a really interesting talk by the Dalai Lama tonight on The Spirit of Things. I'm always impressed by that guy. I love the way he combines genuine modesty with insight, intelligence and childlike humour. He spoke a lot of good sense. The talk was given as part of a conference on happiness.
Unfortunately his wonderful talk was followed by a number of other speakers, some of whose wisdom and modesty left an awful lot to be desired. One twit was moaning the same old moan that kids today are not as moral as we were and they need good morals instilled in them. What a load of steaming crap! And I bristled with fury at the unutterable arrogance of the woman who finished, holier than thou, stating that religion is necessary for a person to be truly good!!!! She needs to get out more into the real world instead of her closed circle of simpering, self-congratulatory, religious bigots. Ooooh!!!
