RandomWalks cartoons

I've decided to try drawing a series of science-oriented cartoons called RandomWalks. I'll post them here too as I draw more. So far I've done two. They're not big files, but to avoid bothering anybody I've put them behind an lj-cut,

We begin our journey as a single cell, fused from two half cells. That single animal then starts cloning itself. Specialisation of most of those cells produces an incredible proliferation of different types that make up nerves, muscles, skin -- even the free-moving, amoeba-like leukocytes. All these tiny animals cooperate to act as one gigantic organism. We truly are enormous, walking colonies of billions of animals.

Air is held down to our planet by gravity and is more dense at lower altitudes than higher ones. Here is a simple, intuitive demonstration that air has weight.

I never thought about the whole air-has-weight thing before.
Huh.

Yay! That is exactly what I was hoping it would do. Thank you.

I love these. As I've studied quite a bit of biology and a touch of physics, it's nothing NEW, but it's an INGENIOUS way of explaining both in simple, interesting pictures! I wish there were pamphlets of these to go along with the annoying text books we always have to buy! At least make this stuff seem more interesting those who don't already find everything fascinating. :P

Heheheh :) Thank you. Thats just what I was aiming for. I'm hoping that I can also sell to educational markets when I have accumulated enough.

On another topic: I recently finished "Sex Without a Story..." and am sorry I didn't reply earlier. Been surprisingly busy. I'll post private email to you about it. Loved the story, by the way. :)

Hangs and shakes head, laughing. Groans. Not "Sex Without a Story!" Well, I'm glad you loved it. I think in a way I love it too, as long as I take the time to acknowledge that I wrote it in three days when I was 15 and crazy.

Can't wait for the private email! But definitely take your time. :D

These are wonderful. I'd love to see more. Thank you. :)

Thank you. :) Hopefully you'll see roughly one per day from when I get home tomorrow (or the day after). Some of the concepts I want to draw are going to be incredibly difficult to distill down to a simple cartoon, but I'll try. So there should be lots more soon.

Yay! :)
