3165 words (5.5 pages)

Latest installment is up on my site at
http://miriam-english.org/stories/seeking-reason/index.html

I'm falling behind. Way too slack. I need to write another 4,000 words by this time tomorrow to have a hope of catching up. Not very likely. :(

Still I plod on.

The story is taking some turns I hadn't quite counted on, at least I hadn't really wanted them this early in the story. But the characters want it that way, so I can't do a lot about it. I'm just the writer. :/

Let me know what you think.

11,013 words.
Just so you know.

How long have you mean doing Nano? And how many times have you "won".

(I'm not doing it to make you feel bad, but I have found it really helpful to have a friend in the US post her daily targets. It speaks to my competitive spirit. But I am all about the target, and awe of your ability to post clean, bite-sized pieces of fiction hot from the oven.)

Actually, I just looked at your info page. How many of the past four have you won?

11,013 words? Is that what you've written or what I need to catch up to my target?

If you mean my target, I was counting the fact that I'm off to the hospital on Monday again, which wipes another day. And apart from finishing chapter 3 today, I got little else done. I should have finished chapter 3 yesterday.

I have only got 50,000 words in before the end of the month once. That was my first time. The story isn't very good, though I'm still rather proud of the fact that I actually did it, and of the sheer number of concepts I packed into it.

Twice I ran out of steam early in the month, and once I only finished the story months after NaNoWriMo. That was Selena City and I'm currently (well except for November) revising and rewriting it. I have a feeling it could be a fairly good story eventually.

Please don't be in awe of any aspect of my writing. I'm neither terribly good at it nor very fast. I keep re-reading my stuff and fiddling with it. That is something I should do after NaNo, not during it.

What I have written. Your target for (your) yesterday was 11,667 words.
Assuming 1,667 words per day.

The aim of Nano is to get 50,000 words out. Nothing else matters really. As I understand it.

Please don't be in awe of any aspect of my writing. I'm neither terribly good at it nor very fast

You miss the point. And anyway, you have confidence to show your work. That is the ultimate hurdle.
