procrastination
I have a big problem with procrastination. It is a flaw I share with my sister, Sue. Yesterday I found that RMIT (Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology) have put a number of free talks online, primarily to help their students, but available to anybody. A couple of them concern advice on dealing with procrastination. In my next conversation with Sue I told her about this. I love her reply. "Oh, cool. I'll listen to them tomorrow."

I don't know why it never occurred to me on my own. It is the way I eat; first the things I should eat, followed by the treats (like leaving potato till last -- my favorite food).

Need we remind that in '05 - my first year of NaNo - I did it in the last three days of the month, because I am a procrastinating loon? Or that in every fanfic fest I participate in, I seem to write the fic in an all-nighter to finish it the day it's due?
I do it with eating too - 'best for last', as it goes. I will mix and mash if the quality is even and the mix of flavours improves the sensation.
(I wish I were sensible enough to really understand that doing the non-fun stuff first makes good sense. Even if I know it on one level, doesn't make it any easier nor me any more likely to go through with it!)
Is it summer yet, so I can get back to writing?!
