With due respect, I do not believe that Tony Abbott's stance on refugees and asylum seekers is a giggling matter. Do you think that the Holocaust was amusing? Of course not, and most of our international humanitarian laws (including the 1951 Refugee Convention, to which Australia is a state party) were a response to that mass obscenity, and an attempt to ensure that it never repeats on any scale of numbers.

This may not have the quanititative scope of the Holocaust, but in my opinion, allowing the death of just ONE person (even if by neglect) is an obscenity. I trust that you agree.
