Wikileaks bullied for standing up for the truth
Thursday, 9 December 2010 10:04 pmIn the USA some idiotic politicians (like that moron Sarah Palin, and other mental midgets) are calling for the assassination of Julian Assange, the founder of Wikileaks. Our weak and cowardly prime minister Julia Gillard has lied about Assange by saying that he's done something illegal under Australian law. Interpol has trumped up a creepy arrest warrant for Assange, which has been smeared all over the press as being for a sex crime (some are even falsely calling it rape) when actually the "crime" is that he had consensual sex in Sweden without a condom. The US has been conducting a DoS (denial of service) attack on Wikileaks in an attempt to block it from public view. The cowards at Amazon have booted Wikileaks from their servers, where it had previously been hosted. Under pressure from the US State Department, the cowards at PayPal, VISA and Mastercard have suspended Wikileaks' accounts. It seems that Facebook initially succumbed to similar pressure, and closed Wikileaks' page, but changed their minds and reinstated it.
Wikileaks published a video of US military delightedly murdering a Reuters news agency film crew and the rescuer of a wounded man, badly injuring two children in the process:
http://www.collateralmurder.com/
A description of it is at http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/apr/05/wikileaks-us-army-iraq-attack
This the kind of festering evil we need to stop.
You will be told over and over again by liars in power that Wikileaks and Assange are being pursued because they "damage US and world security", but it's not true. They are being pursued because lying, backstabbing politicians and their criminal actions are being shown for what they are, and murderous military coverups are being exposed.
Stop the persecution of those who unmask the nasty little people who are screwing up the world. Sign the petitions:

And pitch in some money for full-page ads to counter the tide of propaganda.

Date: 2010-12-09 03:15 pm (UTC)It can be a force for good, evil or gossip.
Knowing Rudd thinks, at some point, we need to keep a military option for China (without context) is pointless.
Knowing Mark Ai Bib is a spy for Washington is not.
Knowing about US corporate torture, sexual slavery and buggery is important.
Knowing the US diplomats think Burlesconni likes 'em young is not so much.

Date: 2010-12-09 10:18 pm (UTC)The real test for the lies spun about Assange and Wikileaks is to consider how our "governments" (sorry, I have to put those contemptible people in quotes) would consider the leaks if they were about their enemies. In that case Assange and Wikileaks would be praised as being the essence of democracy and all things good. But because he airs the dirty laundry of of our pack of nasty liars and murderers he is then cast as the bad guy.
But worse than the names is the bogus interpol charges, the suspending of PayPal, VISA, and Mastercard, illegal DoS attacks on Wikileaks, and what is effectively a fatwa being issued by Palin, King, Huckerbee and various other creepy politicians.
You know the old line from the Pogo comic strip? "We have met the enemy and he is us."

Date: 2010-12-14 11:10 pm (UTC)The government is the politicians and the pollies (as contemptible as they may be) simply don't have the same sort of power that the State does. By State we mean the public service, the permanent careerists in government employ. Pollies are just temporary and talk about policy. The State implements or obstructs the implementation of policy. Think of the whole foundation of the series "Yes Prime Minister". That is how governments can change from Bush to Obama and yet the situation either remains the same or continues to get worse.
I run this blog: http://wl-tsunami.posterous.com/ which autoposts to wikileaksnews on LJ if you want to keep up with what's happening.

Wikileaks is scrupulously careful in what it passes on. Although he doesn't say so, I expect that a lot of the more trivial stuff leaked is to remove the aura of godliness from highly paid "diplomats" and politicians showing that they are actually spiteful, nasty backstabbers. We really do need to know what complete screwups these people are and why they should not be running things.
It seems the banks are out to get him because they are next to have their revolting nature revealed. Wikileaks have a giant batch of leaks that Assange characterises as being like the Enron leaks. Remember how utterly repellent those people turned out to be -- not just crooks, but vile people into the bargain.
Exciting times. It feels like a revolution is beginning.
