It examines Fermi's Paradox, and and why it seems there are no intelligent signals out there when you'd think that with countless stars, even an extremely low probability of civilisations would yield many of them.

:) I don't know that I'd call it arrogance. Just trying to understand, I guess. t3dy's reply to my posting (http://www.livejournal.com/community/astronomy/325598.html) of this to the astronomy community hits it on the nose I think. It is a beautiful response.
