Heheheheh :) It is a lot simpler than it looks. Have a look at the source of the page and you'll see what I mean. The hard part is nutting out how it works in the first place.
I've been meaning to apologise to you. I finished A Book by its Cover when I was in New Zealand at the beginning of the year. I wrote a bunch of edits and comments, but haven't finished inlining them into the main text yet. (I convert it to html so I can read it on my Palm, add the edits and comments to a separate file while I read, then go back later and put the edits and comments in the file at the spots they pertain to.) I keep meaning to get back to it so I can post it back to you, but have been distracted by one thing or another. (These truchet tiles are not the random fun they might appear to be. They are steps in creating a virtual world for a job.)
I love the story! You rock, Jean. I enjoyed this even more than Shadows. I honestly didn't think I would because I've never been a fan of period pieces, but it is a really worthwhile piece.
I promise I'll get the comments and edits back to you soon.
