Should brave men die so you can drive?
Oct. 19th, 2006 09:53 pmI just now learned that this was a slogan during the second world war. It seems to me that it is chillingly applicable now, when we have a foul and unnecessary war being fought to secure oil so that people can waste it driving inefficient, gas-guzzling monsters.
We suck.
We suck.

Date: 2006-10-19 03:38 pm (UTC)I am really sick of hearing people try to compare Bush to Hitler. Here's the big thing guys, if he was anything like him, you'd say it once and never be heard from again. Also, as I recall, during that time there was an attack on the US by people we had known were going to try something like it for well over a decade, but Hitler wasn't involved. That was when the Japanese flew their planes into Pearl Harbor. And like recent events, there will always be arguments over whether we knew the exact time and place that attack was to be made, and if we just let it happen as an excuse to get involved with the whole mess. Why does nobody compare Bush to Roosevelt? After all both were the second person to be president with their name. Or maybe that's just me...
