What's the bet that these will become the new screens of choice in the near future, with everything from pictures hanging on the walls, large advertising billboards, books, magazines and papers, computer and TV screens using this technology. In 2 years or less.
Cheap, paper-thin TV screens that can be used in newspapers and magazines have been unveiled by German electronics giant Siemens.

The firm says the low production costs could see the magazine shelves in newsagents come alive with moving images vying for the customers' attention as they move along the aisle.

The Spitzer Space Telescope is showing amazing new things. See the nearby Amdromeda galaxy (M31) in infrared light. Just look at those dust lanes that could hardly be guessed at in the visible light images.

Go to

to learn more and download much bigger, more detailed images as well as composite images and visible light ones. Just wait till you see the 3000x1650 pixel picture!

The image is a lot more than just a simple picture. It is a composite of approximately 11,000 separate infrared snapshots taken over 18 hours to form an incredibly detailed giant mosaic image.

Howard wants 107 pages of new "anti-terror" legislation to be passed in a single day. John Stanhope has leaked the document because he is appalled that the Howard government can be so irresponsible.

That a police state can be introduced in Australia overnight with virtually no argument from the Beazley opposition is astounding. That is is to be done under the pretext of fighting terror is not surprising. In truth the real terror is the desire for this kind of power.

If this legislation gets passed how long till we are able to throw it off? Do something now. Email, phone, write a letter, or walk into the offices of your local politicians. Make it known that you are not happy that this is being done.

More info, including contacts for all state premieres, federal and state political heads, the pdf file that was leaked, and what the proposed laws mean for us all.

Howard is a dangerous nut. He needs to read the brilliant Wendy Grossman's delightfully humorous article Spot the Terrorist at http://www.newswireless.net/index.cfm/article/2447
I love to read her technology pieces in Scientific American.
