time is running out...

Here in Australia NaNoWriMo begins tonight at midnight -- less than 15 hours away.
[gulp]

I have the story sketched out in more detailed notes than I've ever done before, but the fact that my mind isn't firing on all cylinders is still scaring me quite a bit. Looking at my notes it seems to me that I only have enough material for about three quarters of the book. The plot looks very good and I think it will work well, but I'm really worried about description and characterisation.

Oh well... we'll see won't we.

I keep trying to remind myself that in the end it is all about the attempt and the astonishing amount I learn from that attempt. There is no substitute for actually doing something like this. If I end up with a good story at the finish then that is just a nice bonus.

I've decided to brave the monsters and make the posts publicly available. Any genuine feedback will more than make up for the risks.

And as of now, it's only about two hours away...!! OMG! Here it's an hour (and fifteen minutes but who's counting?) away.

Good for you for posting! And for having a good outline. If you're not feeliong 100% creative, you always have something to fall back on. My goal for this NaNo is to stick to a schedule and FINISH the story in 50k words. I've broken it down into 15 chapters and have given myself two days per chapter. Should be all right--I hope!
