miriam_eHere in Australia NaNoWriMo begins tonight at midnight -- less than 15 hours away.

I have the story sketched out in more detailed notes than I've ever done before, but the fact that my mind isn't firing on all cylinders is still scaring me quite a bit. Looking at my notes it seems to me that I only have enough material for about three quarters of the book. The plot looks very good and I think it will work well, but I'm really worried about description and characterisation.
Oh well... we'll see won't we.
I keep trying to remind myself that in the end it is all about the attempt and the astonishing amount I learn from that attempt. There is no substitute for actually doing something like this. If I end up with a good story at the finish then that is just a nice bonus.
I've decided to brave the monsters and make the posts publicly available. Any genuine feedback will more than make up for the risks.

Date: 2007-10-31 01:47 pm (UTC)Good for you for posting! And for having a good outline. If you're not feeliong 100% creative, you always have something to fall back on. My goal for this NaNo is to stick to a schedule and FINISH the story in 50k words. I've broken it down into 15 chapters and have given myself two days per chapter. Should be all right--I hope!
