The latest part of my Selena City story about a lesbian security worker in a near future where sexuality is not an issue.

part 4 Tourists (1839 words)

Sorry about the late update. Had a bit of difficulty with this one.
Let me know what you think.

Nice work! Although you may want to reword the second part to the "contract": "you never gamble in Selena City" vs "you never gamble here", which makes it sound like it's just a ban at one venue.

Thanks. :) I'll fix that.

I like it. =). She was kind but firm. Very nicely played out. =D. I love her name, too!

It makes me smile every time I hear it.

Thanks :)
I had a bit of a crush on a girl named Adele when I was in school. :)
A beautiful name.

I should probably start replying with this account.

It is a beautiful name. Was your Adele from school like the one in your novel?

Adele makes me think of the little French girl in Jane Eyre

No, she was very feminine... more like Brenda in the story.

Darn. I don't think I ever read Jane Eyre. It is one of those many books I always intended to get around to. It doesn't seem to be in my personal library (which surprises me) so I've just downloaded it from Project Gutenberg along with some other books by the Bronte sisters that I don't have.

Gosh. At 1MB Jane Eyre is a large book. The illustrated 1897 edition adds another couple of megabytes to that.

Project Gutenberg:

Project Gutenberg Australia is also really useful. They often have more recent books. I notice they have a story by Charlotte Bronte listed as SF called "Napoleon and the Spectre". They also have a novel by her I hadn't heard of before called "Shirley".

Project Gutenberg Canada has a lot of cool stuff too (though not of the Brontes):

Just to mention: Latest chapter is finally up at
part 5 Tourists (http://miriam-english.org/stories/selena/05-tourists.html)

Missed a day. Not very happy with this one. It is unbelievably difficult to write day-in-the-life stuff without it degenerating into boring drivel or unlikely crap.

Let me know what you think of it.
