You can now set the new Xcolibur style for LJ to be permanent for you if you so desire. Go to http://www.livejournal.com/setscheme.bml
It even lets you choose a text-only style... for those on dumb terminals or Palm computers or the new crop of mobile phones I guess.
If you are not happy you can easily switch back, but I like the Xcolibur style. It is much less cluttered and all the info that was down the left margin is now accessible from the top bar in a brilliantly simple fashion.
