first day of NaNoWriMo... but without me

miriam_eNaNoWriMo begins today, but for the first time since 2005 I won't be participating. :(
When chatting with my Mum this morning about this, she said something that made me think of an idea. I could take part, but do what some of my friends do: don't make my story public. That way I don't put myself under pressure to ignore the rest of my commitments and I can still get a little writing done. Then perhaps I can finish during December, or even later.
So... Yay NaNoWriMo! I guess I'm a semi-participant. :)
