If so many of the world's banks keep doing bad things and keep getting away with slaps on the wrist because they're too big to fail then it seems really obvious to me what the solution is. We break them up using anti-trust laws. If they are then small enough that they can be successfully prosecuted and the culprits jailed, we all benefit -- even the banks! By being forced to clean up their acts the world economy stabilises and we can get on with life in a more sane environment.
Why am I not seeing this solution anywhere? It seems really obvious to me.
