I have been learning about Bill McKibben and 350.org and have been amazed and worried and comforted by turns. Amazed at what has been happening because as I'm something of a hermit I'm somewhat out of the loop. Worried because the message still hasn't achieved a big change among the willfully deaf politicians around the world. Comforted that this guy is religious and is using his religion, not as a divisive thing, but to bring people together in ways that atheists like me might never be able to do. He joins up with many kinds of christians, hindus, muslims, and of course atheists to try and fix a badly broken world.
Wonderful, wonderful stuff.
The "Do the Math" movie (about 45 mins).

He's currently visiting Australia, though our corrupt mainstream media are doing their best to ignore him or naysay with climate-denial bullshit.
An earlier talk he gave in California that gives a lot of interesting background information and shows how a grassroots movement grew up in dozens of countries around the world, including many of the poorest. Around the middle of the talk he shows some pictures taken by people participating all over the planet. It is a pretty long piece (about an hour and a half) so set aside some time for it.

So... terrible stuff happening, but wonderful stuff happening... may the wonderful win.
