miriam_e42 years ago Michael Hart saw the danger of a growing divide between the information-rich and the information-poor and on this day he typed in, by hand, the first document of Project Gutenberg. Sadly he died 2 years ago. But his legacy remains and continues to grow, providing free knowledge of the ages to any and all who can get access to the net directly or indirectly.
One of the most recent additions is a history by Marie Lebert of the project's first 37 years: Project Gutenberg (1971-2008).
